Few companies can boast of being located in such an extraordinary land.
The Antica Dispensa was founded here in the hills of Monforte d’Alba, in the midst of splendid vineyards which produce some of the world’s best wine. Monforte is a spectacular Langhe hill town, surrounded by fields of grain and hazelnut groves as well as the ubiquitous vines.
It was in this enchanting setting that Ferruccio Ribezzo started Antica Dispensa in 1986, and today runs it with the help of his wife Nadia and son Alberto.
The vinegar factory, Ferruccio’s latest enterprise, opened in 1994.
Far from being the typical cramped basement, reeking with barrels full of poor-quality wine, his acetaia is located in a welcoming and well-kept farmhouse on one of Monforte’s most picturesque hills.
The cellar is enclosed by a grand expanse of glass, through which one can see the barrels containing DOCG Barolo and DOC Arneis wine, slowly becoming fine single-varietal vinegars.
